Crazy Mondays

Lucky for me, I din wake up late this morning. Set my alarm at 7:15 but failed to see it was set for p.m instead of a.m. Got up at 15 mins later but managed to pick up Jakk and have breakfast as well. Breakfast is damn important for me on Mondays. Why? Cos on Mondays, I have loads of animating to do. I usually skip lunches becos there's just so much to do.
I have big plans for today. I wanted to finish off some of the major exercises so I wouldn't have a huge pile up by the end of the week. I was lazy during the weekend (No.... really?) and din get any work done. But luckily I managed to get my storyboard done in time to present to Marvy. Thank God he approved it and so was my timing for the whole animation. But the scary part is that he wants to see the animatics by Thursday. I'm like "Shit! I suck at programmes!" and Andrew is experiencing the same problem. May God have mercy on my pitiful soul...or my lazy ass...
By 7:30, I was done with my keyframes for Stubby the Pencil, animation for the flour sack and head rotation. >Phew< Really tired now. I don know how much more I can take this. I wonder sometimes, will my passion be able to push me hard enough to do this for the rest of my freakin' life? If the result is damn good, of cos it's worth it. Wat in the hell am I talking about? Probably the damn sleepy and tired side of m.... ZzzZzzzzzzzZZZzzZZZZZZZzzzzzzz......

A Failed Plan That Went Absolutely Right!

I had my day all figured out. Was chatting with George the other night and we were talking bout a whole bunch of unfinished work and decided to get it done by Saturday (today). Unfortunately, I slept at 4 a.m. and got up an hr after noon (only becos my dad called). Got up. Ate me breakfast/lunch. Watch anime. Slept while watching anime. Got up and went online. Saw George and chatted. Told him my plan failed miserably. He laffed. Asked me if I wanna go for a gig some where in Sri Hartamas. I said why not.
At the same time, my fren Hamka, was bored and asked me out for fun. Asked him if he was interested going for the gig. He was cool with it. So we went to Lot 10 first cos of his work. He asked me if I wanna eat anything cos he missed his lunch. I wasn't hungry. He felt like having ice-cream. Baskin-Robbins to be exact. "Now you're speaking my language, man" I blurted out. But Lot 10 and Sungai Wang don got no B-R so we settled for Mc D's instead. Hey, ice-cream is still ice-cream, so it was good.

Reached Jam Asia around 8:30 and met up with George along with Seng Yip. The moment I went in, I saw this dude standing on the stage and the first thing that came into my mind was Russell Peters! Wat an uncanny resemblence! Who dat? He is like one of the funniest stand-up comedians I like. You ppl should check him out. He's really funny. I wanted to take pictures with him but I was too shy.

"Anthony by day. "Top Some Bong" by night-ah!"

Saw Jimmy there too! He was there to get autographs for his Deja Voodoo Spells CD. The local bands were not bad. Some were great and some where ok. The only thing I din like was them asking ppl to drink more. They keep shouting "Are you drunk yet?!?! No? Get this ppl more beers man!" Drinking is fine but I don think it's right to influence other ppl. Especially for those who'll be driving. Dammit. More idiotic reasons why I hafta do my fucking PSA this sem.

George and Seng Yip left earlier but I stayed till the very end. Jimmy was nice enough to accompany me. Went for drinks after that with his buddy, Beano. Nice guy. He's an animator and gave me his point of view the working life of an animator. Dammit! I better work harder. A new plan for tomorrow..... err..... ah, forget it.

Tag! I'm It

I've been tagged by George. So here goes...
How many schools did I go to?
Five. Let's see. Sacred Heart Convent (Kindergarten), Infant Jesus Convent (Primary & Secondary), Stamford College Malacca and PJ, University of Northumbria Newcastle (twinning) and Lim Kok Wing Uni College of Creative Tech (currently)... phew. I can hear my dad shouting at the back "Aiyah God! No more studying for Lynndy ah! Old liao. Enuff dee."
Was I the studious nerd, or the last minute hero?
I have always been the last minute hero but I sure played the studious nerd role damn well. Cos I blardy looked like one. I became well-known for my super-extreme big, geeky red glasses. Thanks alot mom!
Was I the class taiko or the teacher's pet?
I was neither. I'm more of a loner. But I could get along with other ppl fine. But that was back in school. Now, I don consider myself taiko but I sure have this strange feeling ppl think of me so. It's my age, isn't it? Leadership aura, my ass.
What was the biggest rule I broke in school?
I'm not a rule breaker or anything. But if I had state anything big, it'll be vandalizing a teacher's car, not taking the art exam for PMR and cutting school for 2 weeks straight. They said you don need to come to school after PMR... I'm only obeying orders wat. Which means I din break the rule!
Three subjects I enjoyed.
I din really enjoy school, so this is gonna be a toughie. I love English. Could aced it with no probs. Loved maths (now I just so fucking suck at it) and lastly, Economics cos it felt like common sense to me.
Three teachers that inspired me.
Only one I can think of now. Mrs. Sivaranan, who was my Form 3 Geography teacher. She drew the world map on the blackboard just like that within minutes. I was like "Oh wow!"
People I tag:
I can't tag much cos the ppl I'd tag are the only ppl who read my blog and they already did it. But I'd tag Bryan, Alfred and Michael the Pyro. You guys don hafta if you don wanna. ^-^

Strange Weather We're Having, Isn't It?

March and it's still raining. Not that I'm complaining actually. As the matter of fact, I'm very thankful cos it sucks to be in Malaysia where the sun is just blardy fucking shines right at us. Usually by this time of the year, we won't be expecting much rain till end of the year. Oh well, but the weather is still strange though. It's blazing hot during the day and by evenings, it'll pour like nobody's blardy business. Becos of this, I became sick. So did the people around me. It all started on last Friday after class (which I had loads of fun distorting JaKk's face... so did Kit and her distorting mine.... but ANYWAY) went over to Bryan's for dinner. What's nicer than someone cooking dinner for you? The two of you preparing it together... oohhh... too mushy... shadap.
Then my throat started to kick in. I hated the feeling. I began coughing bad. I spent my weekend at home in front of the tv. Wanted to eat the food Bryan made for me (awww... ain't he sweet?) but my blardy sistah ATE MY FOOD!!! I hate ppl messing with my food. Which is why I'm so meaty. haha... I watched like many many movies for the weekend. I re-watched Road To El Dorado, Prince of Egpyt for animation purposes and also Van Helsing (animation) and Miyazaki Hayao's ハウルの動く城 (Howl's Moving Castle) first in Jap and the second time in English. Judy and I was laffing our asses off and watched in amazement with his gorgeous animation. Watched William Shakespear's Romeo + Juliet (I so love this movie) and Spiderman 2. By then, I was feeling much better but not Bryan. Pity.
Then came monday. I suggested to the gang to have a study session over at my place for our test on Tuesday (which is today). At the same time we could hang out and all. Everyone was ok with it but George couldn't make it cos he gotta pick up his sis. Poor dude. We only had a few stuff to study so we decided to watch tv instead (influenced by me! Muahahahaaa). Jakk and Liz haven't watch Howl's Moving Castle and the rest of us woulnd't mind re-watching it again. But my DVD has loads of languages so we were watching it Jap then switched to Mangarin to Cantonese to French (ooohhh.... it's sexy, I tell ya) and finally settled for English for everyone's sakes.
After the movie, Jakk wanted to use the internet to update her blog. While the rest of us where just going nuts! Below are some pictures to prove it.

Daryl the Crazy Man and his sidekick the Cuckoo Girl along with their trusty companion the Stuffed Dog.
Mommy, there's a ghost in my room

Liz's desperate attempt to win Judy's attention

We were really gone when everyone was taking turns asking the great Magic 8 Ball our greatest desires. But our greatest Question was :

Daryl: Do we need to study for tomorrow's test?
Kit shakes the Great Ball while the rest of us impatiently waits its answer.
The Great Ball replied "No".
Everyone: YAY!!!
Me: Will we get in trouble if we don study?
Kit shakes again.
The Great Ball replied "Signs point to no"
Everyone : Alright! The Mighty Ball has spoken!
Me: Will all of us pass it?
Kit shakes it one more time.
The Great Ball replied " Very doubtful"
Everyone: .................................................................

Haha... for more wacky pics. Just check out Daryl's blog. We had real great time goofin' off. We really were not in the mood to study at all. Went out for dinner with everyone somewhere in Sri Petaling but the ride to our destination was hell (especially for me). There are 6 of us and it's a 5 seater car. My ass was hanging at the edge of the seat and when Judy slammed on the brakes, I fell on to the floor.

Got home and bathed cos we were running in the rain. I pray not to get sick, again. Studied a bit and went to bed. Hopefully the test won be so damn hard. Today, the test was alright but I wasn't. Oh well, thank goodness for the make-up test.

The Cause Of My "Super Kao" Eye-Bags

It's past 4 am and I'm still online and refuse to go to bed. I've discovered another new found obsession. This is becoming another bad addiction. sigh... For the past whole week, my bro, Judy and I have been watching our all time favourite cartoon since we were kids. Yup, for those who dunno nothing, it's JEM!!! We used to wake up damn early on Sat mornings just to watch this! Yes, it's that good. I just love the drawings! And for the animation during the 80s, it is just damn awesome.
We used to record it on tapes but as the years past, so did technology, our tapes were getting moldy and our VCR were long gone. We were depressed no doubt but always have a special place for her (Jem) in our dear hearts. For years we have neglected her and almost forgotten all about her. However, just recently thanks to Junko ( in a way) and to internet, I managed to find these priceless cartoons (well, to me they are) once again.
It has been more than 10 years since the last time we watched this but it sure did hit the nostalgic part of me when I hear her sing once again. Sure the hair and make-up were a tad too much but hey, it's the 80s. Let's just give and take, alright?

Now, the reason for my eye bags is that these cartoons are real old and I do mean really old. I doubt many ppl still have these which brings the reason the downloading is just so damn fucking long! I don trust to leave my pc on for the rest of the night cos I'm so impatient to get this big-ass file done with. Then maybe... I could get some sleep.... hopefully..... faster finish la!

The Multitasking Daughter

I slept around 5:30 am this morning becos of 3 reasons.
Reason #1 - Tomorrow (today) is Saturday.
Reason #2 - I've been working hard all week, I deserve a break.
Reason #3 - A perfect time for my Carnivale marathon.
FYI, each Carnivale episode is like around 50 mins and I managed to complete 5 episodes straight. I told you I was a TV addict. I was glad I din have any Jap class later. All the more I could sleep in. Ahhh... sleep. One of my favourite things to do on a Sat morning.
But this time around, I din wanna sleep too long like usual. Believe it or not, I can knock out for a good 14 hrs straight. Yup, I can sleep like the dead. But anyway, at 11 am my mom come yelling at my door asking me to follow my dad off somewhere. I was pissed. I was surprised my parents are up. My tenants (those spoil brats) wanted a new washing machine. The old one is spoilt. So were the locks to the doors. I said to my dad I'm sure the ppl at the store do delivery. You don expect old man have to carry their own washing machine. But my dad is forever known for his impatience, so there's no way a 50 yr old would suddenly change.
After bought the damn thing, called one of the tenant to help me carry it upstairs while my dad parked the damn car (thanks for nothing, pop). I was expecting Harry but I din think he was hairy as well! He has hair all over the place. He's an indian so no need to explain any further. Managed to carry it up and replaced the old one. I wanted to tie up the wire so we can carry it out easier. I wanted a scissors to cut the rope but Harry came to me with a big knife. I freaked out for a moment there cos an Indian man (or boy) with a knife don look good. Let alone a hairy one. Wanted to ask him if he were related to the Big Foot recently being discovered in Malaysia. But the knife in his hand stopped me from being stoopid.
My dad was abit pissed with the tenants who had trouble with the locks of their doors. The problem with door #1 was the key couldn't turn nicely so all my dad did was oiled it and viola, it was working fine again. Dumb future doctors. I can feel soooo rest assured under your care now. Problem with door #2 was the idiot accidentally locked the door with his key in and pryed the door and expect us to fix it. Wah lau! I oughta pry his stoopid brain man.
Then later in the evening, my dad paged me. You're probably scratching your head now. Page? This is something you need to know about my family. We are a bunch of lazy ppl. The reason I am this was is becos of my dad. My mom wasn't like this but she gave in halfway. Ok... this is how my family's paging system works. My dad from downstairs living room paging me, in my room upstairs by yelling "LYNNDY AH!!!" on da top of his voice. And if the first attempt failed, he has backup, my mom. She'll stand at the bottom of the stairs and yelled "LYNNDY! DADDY CALLING YOU!!!". I went downstairs and my dad sat in front of the TV and pointing to the remote saying "Spoil". I gave him a stare and fixed the damn thing for him and tell him we have got to stop our family paging system. He said wat's wrong with it. I told him it all started with his mother, that's wat. Am I glad I've stopped paging a long time ago. I guess living in the condo has gave me no reason to use it, the habit must have kicked in.

By George, I think I've Got It!

I just wached "As Good As It Gets" starring Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt. It was getting and I really need to take a bath cos I gotta wake up early tomorrow but I din. Besides the fact that I'm attracted to Jack's idiotic character, I was more fascinated with Simon, the gay artist. I sort can say I can relate to the things he said in the movie. He said he can't just draw just becos he can, there is a need for inspiration in order for him to express himself on the canvas. I guess it applies the same for me too. For the past whole week, I was thinking of a new idea for my PSA and I wasn't in the mood to draw something Marvy asked me earlier last week. But just yesterday before visiting lala land, ideas started pouring in and my hand just grabbed the pencil and started to draw as if a muse single handedly guided it herself. My "inking" , no wait... "tracing" (^v^) could use more work but Marvy said I'm good... shaky.... but good... for a beginner. Yay!
I had to present something by 2 and time was running short. I was starting to panic. Marvy asked me and Andrew wat's our story. We told him our previous ideas and he pointed out that is was better for us to do a simple story. It is the animation that carries greater importance here. After talking to him, suddenly an idea just appeared in my. Like my management team found a foolproof plan under a huge ass pile of crap or something. I couldn't think of a perfect tagline to close it. George and I were scratching our heads just thinking about it but manage to think of something. Later, presented my idea and Cesar liked it. So did Andrew and everyone. I was happy.
Went to IOI Mall later with Jakk and Daryl for breakfast/lunch/early dinner. Had Shakey's. Walked around the supermarket and Daryl became obsessed with his phone's ability to snap pictures. He started posing for the camera holding food and beverages and talked me and Jakk into ridiculing ourselves too. He was even more excited when we went to the wine section. This kid has issues.

It's Baby Riyô!!!

利陽 ちゃん、笑って くれてね...
Went over to Junko's place for dinner today. It has been a whole full month since Riyô was born. And when Junko told me his name, I automatically think of Rio from "Jem and the Holograms"! Anyone remember that show? God, I love that show. Anyway, for those who don know who I'm talking about, here are some pics.

Here's Rio trying to win Jem's heart but got rejected becos he looks like a wuss. There he goes, walking aimlessly while thinking of her. "Damn you bitch! I'll pump up real good! You'll see"

After many months pumping iron, he's back to "sweet" talk Jem.

But for now... let's forget that crazy guy and concentrate on this lil' cutie shall we? FYI, did you guys know that Glen Vilppu worked on "Jem and the Holograms"??? It's no wonder the drawings are so damn cun. He is like the best! He's an inspiration! No wonder I ended up taking up animation. It was him all along! Thanks, Glen.

Ok... now on food. Junko's mom is an amazing woman. She can prepare meals fit for a King. I helped her a little. I love watching ppl cook. But I suck at cooking (sorry Bryan). Then again, I never really cook a proper meal before. Maybe I should start learning (Run Bryan, RUN!!!). Anyways, we had a great meal. Yummy food with miso soup and red wine. I was stuffed after the meal. Then everyone wanted to eat the cake I bought. I ate like a pig. But it was worth it. HAha...

ありがとう、お母さん。ご馳走様でした。おいしかった...本当に。

If you're wondering why I appreciate good food so much. It's becos I don have anything in my fridge. No! Seriously! Would I lie to you? Here, check it out!

This is wat I have in the freezer. Now you know why I call myself "Ice-cream girl"

A Model Named Nizam

Today was my class for Life Drawing. I haven't had that subject for the past 2 semesters now. But it is essential when it comes to animation. So Rini (my lec) brought in a model for us today, which was Nizam. I've seen him around since Foundation. He was my tutor for Life Drawing in Sem 1, modelled for us back in Sem 3 and back with us again in Sem 5. Back in Sem 3, he had a small beer belly (it looks like a beer belly... he's a malay so he can't drink. Then again, that's the only way I could describe it to you guys... SHADDAP!). Neways, he must have seen the pics we drew him back then and realised the beer belly just had to go. So today, there he was. Standing half-naked in front of 12 students with his six-pack (if you place a strong light beside him, the six-pack would look damn obvious). He looked leaner now. Not to mention his nipple-ring was quite an attention-grabber. Rini said disregard that detail. Daryl din care and Kit totally forgot to draw his nipples. Kit... that is so not you...
But it doesn't matter. Cos I still suck at drawing guys. My guy still looks like a girl trapped with a man's body. SHIT! Rachel saw my drawing and said her fren's style is somewat like mine. I thought that her fren couldn't draw guys properly as well. She said her fren loves feminine guys. BLARDY SHIT!!! Oh well, back to the drawing board....
Even this dude is 10 times manlier than my guys.
It has been blardy freakin hot for this whole week. But finally, it rained... real heavily today! I was so thrilled. Finally I can let the air-cond rest for the night. Had ice-cream too! Yummy McFlurry's Oreos! Mmmm.... oreos.....
